Fun, Foolishness, and Frivolity

By on October 6, 2006

I have just realized that I have some sort of a sick need to come up with ridiculous consonant-matching titles for my posts. Please forgive me for any past and future manifestations of that habit…

Also, for anyone who thinks that I have some firm grasp over the fine art of spelling, I did have to look up how to spell “consonant” at dictionary.com, and yes, I spelled it wrong the first time!

Moving forward…

If you have read any of my past posts, especially the original introductory post for this blog, then you should have an idea that the general goal with this blog is to help people basically get their ducks in a row.

However, being the die-hard (and proud of it, Baby!) Capricorn that I am, I do have a tendency to make sure that everything is done just exactly the right way. Or, as I’m sure my wife would attest to, at least the way that *I* think is the right way!

There is certainly nothing wrong with making sure that the job gets done properly, however, you have to keep the entertainment factor at least on the radar, or else you turn into a boring college professor, and who wants to be known as that? (No actual college professors were harmed during the creation of this post)

In fact, I will give full credit for the timely reminder of this very important fact to Ms. Heather over at Dooce.com. Her site is entertaining on levels that can’t easily be summed up in a short synopsis, so just click on over there and enjoy for yourself.

Now, getting back to the “I must have a point when I speak” Capricorn-mode, there is a very real life lesson to be had here. In a nutshell, that lesson is that we are all SUPPOSED TO BE HAVING FUN!!

Spaz

That’s the whole point to our existence! During the entire time that we spend here on this earth we are “spiritual beings have a physical experience” as James Arthur Ray is fond of saying. He usually follows it up by saying, “But we ARE having a physical experience!”.

The point? Enjoy yourselves! Yes, yes, I know. We have “work to do”, and we have “responsibilities”, and blah, blah, blah. Yes, all of that is true. But the REAL truth is that we are supposed to be enjoying our time on this earth, not toiling away on some “grand mission”.

Your “mission”, if you want to call it that, is to have a good time. So, as you read through the information that you find on the Internet or in the “real world” about self improvement, self development, or even just while you are hanging out at your favorite toy store, remember the mission:

HAVE FUN!

Don’t take life too seriously. The universal Law of Attraction is very real, and it works very well – whether you believe in it or not. And, based on the Law of Attraction, by focusing on something, you will bring more of it into your life.

So, even as you scour the ‘net for information about how to make your life what you want it to be, don’t forget that the primary goal is simply to enjoy the ride.

And for that, dear reader, I hope that I can be your driver from time to time!
