Self Improvement Book Reviews, Paris Hilton, and Personal Development Partners!

By on July 2, 2007

Here at Today is that Day I frequently practice the fine art of PLATE SPINNING, and the past few weeks have been no different! I have been and continue to be working on several different things all at the same time, so I wanted to highlight a few of them to make sure that my readers didn't miss anything.

First off, over at one of my other blogs, The Information Underload, I just posted a story that I think is worth your time to check out.

Normally, being the Law of Attraction junkie that I am, I know better than to "push against" anything that I don't like. However, I was nothing less than inspired by the actions of one person in particular, so I had to write about the incident! Get the full scoop at the URL below:

Paris Hilton and Deadly Car Crash

Second, in my post 'Taking Self Improvement and Personal Development to the Next Level' I discussed the fact that Personal Development Partners is going to be moving to a new software system, and that plan has now been written in stone!

If you are already a member but didn't get the site-wide message that I sent out earlier, be sure to go over there and get the details.

Also, I wanted to take a moment to call out some major gratitude to the people who gave a donation or purchased some half-off products in order to help fund the process. You totally rock, and I cannot thank you enough for your help!

Donations have always been (and always will be) accepted here at Today is that Day, and I will always try to get my readers product discounts whenever possible as well.

Upcoming Book Reviews

I am very excited about 2 book reviews that will be coming up this month, and both authors have been wonderful about getting me all of the information needed in order to provide the most value to the people who read my reviews.

The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow RichComing up first will be my review of Brian Kim's awesome eBook 'The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich'. I got my copy late last week and so far the book is awesome.

I will finish it up this week and then put together an honest review of the contents. It turns out that as the Today is that Day site is now an affiliate partner of Brian's, anyone who decides to purchase a copy through the Today is that Day site gets some awesome extra goodies in addition to the book itself.

However, as is always the case, any review that I do for products will be honest and forthright. I'm not going to endorse a product to my readers unless I personally believe in it. Also, Brian already has a "leg up" as far as I'm concerned because his blog is packed with great content, and he has frequently been featured in the Today is that Day Link Love series.

Coming up on July 31st will be the next book review, and it will be for Judi Moreo's empowering book, 'You Are More Than Enough: Every Woman’s Guide to Purpose, Passion, and Power'.

You Are More Than Enough: Every Woman's Guide to Purpose, Passion, and PowerJudi has been in the business of teaching success and empowerment for a long time and her list of accomplishments is nothing less than staggering. Nonetheless, I had a moment of hesitancy when I saw that the title of her book specifically called out women. So, I called her on that, and she was kind enough to give me the following answers to some very tough pre-book review questions.

My questions to Judi are below in blue text, and her answers are in black text. Get a better feel for what Judi is all about by reading through this pseudo-interview, and either pick up a copy of her book now, or swing back by the Today is that Day blog on July 31st to see my full review.

AARON: I see a lot of information about success and empowerment that is geared specifically towards women, which is great. However, being someone who also writes about personal growth, I try to have all of my writings be applicable to people of all shapes, sizes, genders, cultures, etc. What are your thoughts in general about books and other materials that are specifically geared towards women vs. similar materials that are not gender-specific?

JUDI: Actually, anyone could read “You Are More Than Enough” and they would get a lot out of it. In fact, I have been surprised at how many men have read it so far and loved it. The only chapter that is specifically for women and women only is the chapter on wardrobe and appearance. It would not have been possible to add that chapter if the book had been for everyone and the way we present ourselves is so important to success. In addition, I am a public speaker and I have found my audience to be predominantly women.

AARON: “How-to” guides on every imaginable subject can be found in staggering quantities, especially on the Internet. Do you have any feelings about bridging the gap between a manual for success such as your book and the “taking action” part that is a necessary part of any success strategy?

JUDI: Of course, just reading will not make a person successful. They must take action. Many people don’t know what action to take. That is why I have added a skill practice at the end of every chapter. In addition, I have a companion journal which will be coming out in t
he fall which not only helps people know what to do, it gives them a way to measure their success. And by the way, the journal is not gender specific.

AARON: In your impressive and lengthy history of success as well as teaching others to be successful, have you come across any critical step, personality trait, or set of circumstances that must be in place before someone can take advantage of the type of knowledge and empowerment that is included in ‘You Are More Than Enough: Every Woman's Guide to Purpose, Passion and Power’?

JUDI: There are no steps, traits, or circumstances that must be in place BEFORE taking advantage of the knowledge and empowerment in the book. However, DURING the process, a person will need to start the habit of discipline if they don’t already have it in place. It doesn’t have to be all at once. Just discipline one more part of their life than they have before and when they read the book, they’’ll see how easy it is.

There you have it! Based on what I've learned about Judi, as well as her answers to these questions, I can't wait to read her book!

I think I'll even read the chapter on wardrobe. Who knows, I might learn a thing or two! 🙂

Thanks for the update, I have just one question: do you have an eta on when new signups will be enabled? Or am I just missing the glaringly obvious signup link?

    Thanks Marc

    Marc,

I appreciate your interest, and no, you aren’t missing anything. I temporarily turned off the sign up link because I didn’t want people to take the time to fill out their profile just to have to turn around and port over their information to the new system once I have it up and running.

I am planning for a relaunch either this week or very early next week, depending on how long it takes me to make the customizations that will make the system worth waiting for. I will definitely post an update here on the blog the moment that the system is up and running, though, so stay tuned! 🙂
