The nutty fruity smoothie is another one of our staples. We absolutely love this one, especially after a hard workout and when we need sustained energy for a long time.
NOTE: I don’t normally do this one when I’m detoxing because I want to stay away from anything even as heavy as nuts and protein powder. That’s just my personal preference, not science.
Nutty Fruit Smoothie
Serves: 2 servings
Ingredients
- Low Carb:
- 1.5 cups of water
- 1 cup of coconut milk
- 1 scoop of protein powder
- 1 cups of fresh (or frozen) raspberries
- 4 tbsp walnuts (or 2 small handfuls)
- 2 tbsp almonds (or 1 small handful)
- 1 cup of ice
- Original Recipe:
- 1 cup of water
- .5 cup of plain yogurt
- 1 cup of raspberries
- 1 banana, peeled
- 4 tbsp walnuts
- 2 tbsp almonds
- 4 dates
- 1 cup of ice
Instructions
- put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth (apron 30 – 60 seconds)
Notes
This one takes a little longer to blend or you’ll end up with chunks of nuts. You’ll definitely want to use a high quality blender like Vitamix for this one)
