Blog Your Dreams True

By on May 13, 2007

DISCLAIMER: This blog post doesn’t really have anything to do with self improvement! However, it is a fun idea, so I thought I would play along and slide this post in on a Sunday, a day that normally sees no posts on the Today is that Day blog.

It is basically an Internet version of the old “Mad Libs” games, where you would fill in an anonymous blank with a certain type of word, and then a usually hilarious story would form out of the results.

Well, in this version that was thought up by Nia, instead of picking out a word, you insert a link to a blogger who agreed to play along, and then you create a story around those links.

Like I said, you aren’t going to get the answers to life out of this post, but it was a fun way for all of the bloggers who played along to get a little bit of link love. So, without any further adieu, I give you Nia’s rendition of:

Blog Your Dreams True

Clean up your act & get on with your life! Them sounds like fightin’ words! Well they are meant to be encouraging and to get you headed in the right direction toward a healthy lifestyle.

Reading about heroes daily is another way to be inspired, unless of course you have a divas approach to life and work!

In that case, you need not rock your world today, you can ease into it with a personal blog, an online journal built on a platform similar to the one you are reading now.

Jennifer, our model for this post, does just that. Parenting humor, or things that parents can appreciate, is a popular topic to blog about. Sometimes you can just blog about everyday pictures, while other times there is no “theme” other than “a day in the life of”.

To get a blog is a cinch. Just go to Word Press or Blogger and sign up. There is absolutely no need to be techno savvy, to have web development knowledge, or even to know about social media optimization. However, having access to some computer tips will serve you well.

Just relax! Sure you can work on that million dollar project, or decide to share your articles at an article directory, but first it starts with a blog and a dream:

Have you ever thought about taking a trip to Norway, Bhutan, Portugal , rural India or some other exotic place? Ah, someday. What if Today is that Day?

And so ends the blogger’s edition of Mad Libs! Enjoy the rest of your day, and feel free to click on over to the websites of any of the bloggers who participated!

    Aaron, this is cool.

Funny I didn’t get a ping back. Amyway I just copied the URL of your post into the comment the original.

Yeah it definitely comes off as a bit of a Mad Lib.

Took me hours. If you want, check the original, after Wednesday to see how many actually participated and what they did with it. Wait you’ve got WordPress, youcan see from yur dashboard what other sites are connecting to your site.

Next project will be something simple. (Or at least simpler for me–lol)

Nice theme you’ve got here, Aaron. Keep it up!

    All the best, Nia. 🙂

P.S. Jennifer is also the photographer of the tulip avatar that I use! A mommy of many talents, that one!

    Nia,

Thanks for stopping by, and thanks again for putting together the “Internet Mad Libs”! LOL

    Fun stuff to take part in, to be sure, and big props to Jennifer for all of her work and, uh… modeling? {grin}
