Doing it Differently Blog Carnival, 3rd Edition

By on May 15, 2007

Welcome to the 3rd edition of the Doing it Differently Blog Carnival!

This carnival is dedicated to the concept of stepping outside of the box and living our lives in ways beyond the "norm"!

Whether you want to learn unique ways to think or act differently, or if you want to share your own unique ideas, this carnival is for you!

There will be a new edition of the carnival posted every two weeks, on the 1st and the 15th of every month. You can click here to learn more, or click here to submit a post for the next edition, which will be posted on June 1, 2007.

For any authors who submitted entries that you don't see here, there were several that I ruled out for various reasons. Although I intend to keep this blog carnival "loose and fun," I do plan to stick to the theme of "Doing things Differently" so please submit posts in alignment with that concept.

Also, this should go without saying, but this is a Blog Carnival. Please don't submit pages from your site unless your site is, in fact, a blog. 🙂

Here we go!

1) If you think that success has to be complicated, I invite you to check in at Renovate Your Life with Craig and read the post Gill's Story. p.s. – Bring tissues and prepare to be humbled.

2) If you're willing to get outside of the pack and actually put some effort into it, The Frugalist brings us a big list of 35 money-saving tips with the post How to: Avoid Paying Retail.

3) Over at CoachChar.com, Charmell does a GREAT job of illustrating the sometimes difficult to understand concept that forgiveness is something that we do for ourselves. Read Taking A Closer Look At Forgiveness for all of the details.

4) For some productivity tips that are much more "you centered" than the standard tips on how to get things done, be sure to swing by The Science of Energy Healing and check out the post Increase Productivity by Conquering Procrastination.

5) At Grasshopper New Media, Lara has an excellent post that doesn't just help when it comes to getting things done around the house, but it instills values in our youth as well. Check out her thoughts in the post Teach Your Kids to Work, Part VII.

6) At Atlantic Canada’s Small Business Blog, the post Business life lesson – conflict resolution, lists some out of the box and very effective ways of dealing with the conflict that inevitably shows up for everyone at one time or another.

7) If you have trouble getting out of bed in the morning, be sure to swing by the Mastery of Meditation, Enlightenment & Kundalini Yoga blog. The post The Secret on How to Become an Early Riser makes the very valid point that getting up isn't about the time of day, but rather about your motivation to do whatever it is that you are getting out of bed to do!

8) Have you ever gone looking for the fountain of youth? JoLynn Braley of The Fit Shack has a comprehensive post about a simple daily exercise program that only takes 20 minutes, but appears to have as many  benefits as a significantly more detailed system, and possibly even more. Check it all out in the post A Secret to Anti-Aging and Longevity – The 5 Rites.

9) Some people think that having a routine is boring, while over at Arun is Bringing You…Your Daily Remedy, the post Routine Your Way to Awesome Living argues that a routine life actually creates the opportunity to BE spontaneous.

10) In a bit of from the heart story telling over at Be the Change – Tread the Path, Damien shares A spiritual Bacon Barm – 3 stories of me. Each story comes with a life lesson that will hopefully save YOU from making some of the embarrassing or painful mistakes that he made!

11) If you are interested in a career in the film industry, the site Sophistpundit offers an alternative view on how things may be come to pass in that industry with the post The future of film.

12) This will be old-school for any of you Law of Attraction junkies, but for anyone who hasn't been exposed to these ideas, the post Vibrate at the Same Rate as Money over at the Universe of Success covers the basics for getting on the same wave length as financial success.

13) As more and more of us spend increasing amounts of time at our computers, take some advice from the Free Geekery and learn these 25 Free Health Tips for Computer Nerds.

That's it for the 3rd edition of the Doing it Differently Blog Carnival!

Thanks as always to each of our contributing authors, as well as our interested readers!

The next edition will be posted on June 1st, and the closing of this edition is also the official call for submissions for the next one! Get the inside scoop on what this carnival is all about and access the submission form as well by clicking right here.
